A Little Pop

Oh, accessories. Where do I begin? They are the highlight of my life. I don't go a day without wearing one of the many that I have. They can make a simple outfit fabulous, and draw attention to you in a very good way. Who doesn't like that? Head on over to Modcloth and pick your next statement piece.

Bottoms Up

Continuing my foray into the lovely Modcloth, today I'm highlighting the bottoms that they carry. Of course, there is a huge selection, it really is the place to go when you have a specific item in mind. I chose a pair of pants and some rompers that I love. The rest are beautiful skirts.

Top This

Continuing with my adoration for Modcloth, I'm showcasing a few of the tops that caught my eye. I tried to vary my selection as much as possible to show the wide array of items that they carry, hopefully I did it. Sometimes you're just attracted to the same thing over and over again, ya know? For me, it's a loosey goosey black top. Always a favorite. What about you?

Time To Twirl

This week I wanted to do a spotlight on the fabulous Modcloth online shop. The selection never disappoints, and there are literally hundreds of items to chose from in each category. Today I'm kicking it off with dresses, and let me tell you the options are limitless. There were over 350 dresses under $50!!! Here are some of my favorites, along with a few more expensive pieces. After you finish reading head over there and check it out for yourself!!

Finding Love

Finding Love

Today I thought I'd do a casual date outfit. Wishful thinking maybe, but it was fun anyways. I'm in love with all things floral lately and try to incorporate it and any way possible. I was also inspired by the adorable love/friendship necklace, and how the earrings match nicely with the rest of the look. What about you? What fun and flirty look would you wear on a date?

Art Inspiration

I just got back from a wonderful trip to Arizona to visit my awesome sisters. We spent one of our afternoons at the Musical Instrument Museum. It was absolutely amazing to see such a broad display of culture and creativity. We stopped by the gift shop on our way out and I snapped a picture of this cute basket. It inspired me to put together an outfit. It's definitely not a direct interpretation, but I like the way it turned out. What do you think?

Makeup Mavens

I've been watching the ladies from Pixiwoo for about a year now. They have wonderful tips and tricks that make it really easy to learn new ways to play with makeup. Their lovely accents and spunky personalities make it fun to watch and definitely keep me coming back. Check out a few of my favorite videos.

With A Cherry On Top

I've recently been obsessed with oxford shoes. I have yet to purchase a pair, but there are more than a few that I have my eye on. I wanted to style this look using clothes that are similar to the ones in my closet, so that I could really see how the shoes translate. I'm even more sold now. I also love the look of gold and red together, so I was excited to use it on this one. What are your favorite color combinations?

Love Potion

Love Potion

When I was younger I loved the movie, "Love Potion No. 9," Sandra Bullock was such a nerdbomber. This outfit is for a slightly more stylish lady, who definitely needs the ability to work some heels. A little sense of humor wouldn't hurt either.
P.S. the shirt is also available in light pink!!

Flowers on the High Seas

Flowers on the High Seas

I'm loving the juxtaposition between the nautical and the floral in this look, and the great unifiers are the gold accents which tie in every piece. This outfit screams 70's, and in this case a blast from the past is definitely welcomed. I'm thinking these clogs would get miles and miles of usage from me.

Nerdy Chic

Gitty Up

This is by far the cutest outfit I think I have put together. The top is fancy and fun at the same time, and it looks so good with the subtle houndstooth print on the skirt. I also love how the tan and olive colors go so beautifully with each other and the rest of the look. The Burberry watch and J.Crew bag are high ticket items, but I see them as staples to a wardrobe that will last forever.

Good Outcomes

My last post featured my new Conair curling rod. I used it on my hair for New Years Eve, and had mixed feelings. I curled smaller pieces and concentrated the curl to the more narrow end. It was a struggle to get the ends of my hair curled while not burning my fingers (I opted not to use the heat glove because it was hard to manage my hair with it on). I gave it a second shot today and am totally pleased with the results. I used bigger pieces of hair and the thicker end of the rod. It's a more relaxed and beachy look, so I just curled the pieces in the middle leaving the top section and the ends out.
I would totally recommend this product. It heats up in an instant and provides great results. I'm excited to see just how many looks I can achieve with it. Here are a few pictures of both outcomes.
